I to am going through a rough period speech-wise right now too. Having it come and go in waves like this almost makes it harder. For example I started a new job 2 months ago, and my rough speech period hadn't hit yet. But, a few weeks in it started to hit harder than it's hit in almost 10 years. It's making the job difficult because A) it's a fast paced restaurant job and quick, loud speech is extremely important, and B) when I started, my rough speech cycle hadn't hit yet, so my coworkers who have known me for only a few months are just seeing it now and I think it's confusing and making things complicated. Anyway the point I was getting at is for me, I think the cycles come based on how you're feeling. I was worried when I started working at my new job that my speech might become a problem, and then because I was in that anxious state of mind, my speech did become a problem. It's sort of like a self-fulfilling prophecy so to speak. My advice for you is similar to what someone else on this thread said: power through it. These cycles are always temporary, and it may be a rough couple weeks or months, but eventually it will simmer down, and you'll be back in control.
