I used to feel tension in my throat and other areas of my body when i stuttered but what helped me was just relaxing. Take a deep breath before you talk then say the words as calmly as you can. Stress and anxiety have a lot to do with the pain you feel when stuttering. Learn to accentuate the words you feel you’ll stutter on. Look for vowels to emphasize and you’ll stutter less.
