On this Reddit people have reported various levels of success with Abilify, Risperidone, Prozac, Sertraline, Baclofen, Propranolol and other antipsychotic medications used “off label” for their stuttering. Some you can get prescribed from your doctor but the ones which are dopamine antagonists / agonists need to be prescribed by a Psychiatrist who’s willing to prescribe it for stuttering off label. Personally, I’m on Prozac daily for my anxiety, which indirectly helps with my fluency. If I have a heavy speaking event/day, I’ll take Propranolol and Baclofen a couple hours before the event and it helps a tonne with the physiological effects of elevated cortisol/adrenaline etc… it really calms my brain and I block a LOT less. I only use these situationally, not every single day, like Prozac. Best to seek medical advice from your doctor on these and doses etc… they can guide you on what might suit you best. Everyone is different so what might work for one might not necessarily work for others. YMMV.
