I took an afternoon shift on college radio when I was an undergrad. Tons of pressure but I learned a lot. I spent a lot of time on show prep because I planned and wrote out all my talk sets beforehand. And when I opened the mic I spoke with sort of a smarmy DJ alter-ego voice. It taught me how I can be fluent when I REALLY really listen to myself when I speak.
