Indeed. The way I see is that if you have a genetic defect that affects day to day life (oral communication) I find it cruel to have children. Now, if a stutterer has a child, it isn't a 100% guarantee that he/she would have the same defect. But there is still a chance. There are stutterers who have had kids that don't stutter at all. While those stutterers who took the chance are still cruel, they got lucky their inferior genetics didn't mark the children. This world is all about verbal communication. Every..single..thing revolves around it. There is nothing a human can do to avoid it. When you cannot communicate effectively it takes a toll on you. There isn't a single stutterer out there that can say that stuttering doesn't bother them sometimes, even the ones who don't mind their stuttering as much. Condemning a child with the life of a stutterer is cruel. --------------------- How severe is your stuttering? What have you tried to remedy it? Are you currently in school?
