College senior here. I talked to a doctor about it just to see my options, and I started taking Prozac once a day. It helps a lot for me; it just relaxes my jaw in general without "sedating" me if you get my drift. Stuttering is a PHYSICAL - not psychological - condition. You aren't mentally ill. You are having a physical reaction within your nervous system and jaw muscles that is causing the stutter. Medicine is an option. I was a guinea pig for a stuttering research center and they are very confident that stuttering is a physical issue. I think stutterers need to understand that there is nothing wrong with their mind; there is just a lack of precision between the jaw muscles and brain/nervous system.
