I feel like I’m making my life harder on purpose by choosing a job with so many meetings. Is there actually anyone else with a stutter who has to attend meetings all the time for work, or am I the only one? It feels like I’m doing something wrong, and I feel like people who stutter generally don’t work in jobs that require a lot of talking. It feels like I’m the only one putting myself in this situation. I sometimes stutter during meetings, and my boss said I need to improve my communication skills, but I didn’t tell him that I have a stutter. I’m kind of surprised that nobody has asked me if I have a stutter yet. Are they just afraid to assume, or do they not know what it is? It’s generally surprising. I’m wondering if I should tell them. I’m a 30-year-old man. I’m not trying to play the victim or ask for special treatment.
