Totally agree - this describes every group encounter for me, and also describes how one-on-one encounters usually go much better. I think it has partially to do with timing - a group dynamic has its own timing and all participants must conform to that timing. Stutterers of course can’t consistently adhere to outside timing parameters so very quickly we get knocked off course. It’s discouraging and over many years with no improvement it makes casual group discussions somewhat traumatic, at least for me, and that takes a toll on self-esteem and confidence. Definitely a burden.
