I’m trying not to be offended, but I am.

I’m trying not to be offended, but I am. Not sure if there’s a vent or advice flair or whatever. Title says it all. I had an interaction with a miserable coworker who opened a conversation with me with a sarcastic question, I responded, he didn’t hear, and when I repeated myself while stuttering, he mimicked me, I guess to be funny or maybe antagonistic. I was getting up a pickup order after my shift for a friend at Target (my workplace)—he works the pickup counter, and then proceeded to tell me that the order wasn’t ready or something. I was bummed—I was already tired after a long shift, and learning you’re going to have to wait around your workplace after your shift ended is not something you want to hear. I took off. He and another coworker found me later and actually gave me my friend’s stuff. Same guy said he was “kidding” when he asked where I went. I literally stuck to my guns and told him that I wasn’t going to wait around after hearing that my friend’s order wasn’t done, and he said something like I didn’t get some sort of stupid “inside joke.” He acted like I was some sort of stuck-up for not getting his humor. I seriously don’t know what I did to make this guy upset because he’s been antagonistic since the get-go today. Or could be that he’s just a miserable man who enjoys sucking the joy out of other peoples’ lives. His little humor making fun of something I can’t control is not ok. I wish I wasn’t offended, I wish I was chill and I could play it off. But I’m still kind of hurt. I want to go to HR corporate and tell them about this, but I’m also on the fence and wonder if it would just be better if I don’t, and tell him straight up that that hurt my feelings. Idk. Anyone have similar experiences?
