I think we need to define what "beating up" means. I would be concerned if someone pinned someone down, started pounding on them and felt good about it. I feel this is not the way at all and if that has happened it should be reflected on. When I was in the first years of school I got into a lot of fights and scuffles. Eventually someone would say something that would push me over the edge and I would start swinging. Most of the bullies weren't interested in getting hit and would often run away or quickly appologise. Most of them quickly respected my ability to stand up for myself and we became friends. I have never regretted any of this but I also never got any satisfaction from it either.
