Thanks so much. Her teacher last year was great and my daughter felt very comfortable with her stutter because of the patient response of her teacher. It didn't hold her back in the classroom. Outside of the classroom and home she pretty much refuses to speak to people. She feels better when I let people know she stutters before she speaks to them. I don't go around prefacing every conversation with it, but I do let other adults in her life ( hockey coach friend's parents) know about it so they know to give her a little more time to respond to questions. Her SLP also stutters, and that is her main focus. We live close to a major university that has a free stuttering program, but she cannot begin that until the fall. Thank you so much for your comments.
