Sudden onset stammer triggered by psychological stress?

Sudden onset stammer triggered by psychological stress? Hi all, I 30/M have been going through an increasingly stressful situation for the last 2 months. It is an ongoing legal situation and the incidents it relates to have had a horrific effect on many areas of my life. I've noticed in the last 2-3 weeks, that when I am speaking I will hold on the first letter of the word and it takes me longer to say it. Sometimes I hold the letter like "ssssometimes" but other times it feels more like "ss-sssometimes". I think this would be a stammer and not a stutter if I am holding or dragging out the letter but I am not familiar with the correct terminology. From some googling it seems its not common for adults to develop a stammer but some of what I looked at said psychological stress can cause it? I personally don't think anything sinister or organic has caused it. I'd say it likely is the stress I'm under. But I wanted to post here to see if this is something other members have experienced or do most here have life long problems with speech. Just want to hear from others I suppose who may have had a speech problem triggered by stress and if its common. Thanks.
