My stuttering was so severe that I would stutter even when reading aloud by myself. I think that doing DAF this somehow flipped a switch in my brain or in my confidence, allowing me to speak or read aloud without stuttering. When I was young, I also spoke very little in general, so the DAF exercises actually made up a large percentage of my total daily speech.
