Uh... not really. I hate this stereotype of stutterers--that we're all just frightened, quiet, socially diminutive people. It is largely inaccurate. If you ask, a lot of stutters will say their disfluencies came before their anxieties. That they were loud and happy children before fluent verbal expression became a necessity. That they're quieted because of an inability to properly express themselves. That they're socially diminutive because their disfluencies and how they and other people respond to them can be very alienating. However, I do think there is some merit in ceasing one's giving of fucks. The less you care about how other people might respond to your disfluency, the less anxiety you'll feel, and the more comfortable a stutterer is, the less they'll stutter.
