The real reality is that we are people who stutter and will always be persons who stutter. We can learn techniques and strategies that can help us control the stuttering so we are fluent speakers. Until there is a "cure" we will always be "a person that stutters" One we accept our stuttering for what it is, the anxiety and all the underlying emotions will decrease, allowing us to more control our fluency. It is not negative.....it is finding alternate support and acceptance of a disorder that has NO CURE. Better that than waiting for it go go away or waiting for the cure.
