Finished this book a few nights ago, and it was uncanny how much I could relate to the author's writing. Growing up, I found myself in lots of similar situations, such as being terrified of introducing myself because I had to say my name, or answering the telephone. Reading the book reminded me of a lot of those feelings growing up. Haven't yet made peace with my stutter in the same way she has, and still consider myself a "closet stutterer". Hope I can overcome the feeling of helplessness one day.
