How do I help a coworker that stutters?

How do I help a coworker that stutters? Sorry if this is a regular post, I scrolled a bit and didn't see anything that answered my question. My job is possibly going to hire someone I've indirectly worked with before that occasionally stutters and I'd like some advice. I was taken off guard when I first met this person. I talked to them for an hour about a project and at the end of the conversation they began to stutter on a word for a few moments. My first question is should I let people on my team know that this person has a stutter to prepare them so they don't do something rude? Or is it rude to bring this up because it may embarrass this person at a brand new job? I would like to protect them from embarrassment, but I also don't want to meddle and end up creating embarrassment for them. Next question is what can I do to help when someone starts stuttering? I feel a bit helpless and don't know what to do. I myself have some anxiety in most social situations and am unsure what to do, so when it happens I begin to feel awkward myself. Am I supposed to pretend nothing is happening, maintain eye contact/break eye contact, help them with the word, make light of it to help ease the tension, etc? I feel pretty ignorant on this and am hoping to hear what would help from my side and how to not make someone feel worse. Thanks everyone!
