Armydude19 has it right, IMO. The only thing that will actually work is exposure. Everything else is a bandaid that will only prolong and worsen the problem. Everyone goes through an experimentation and learning process though. I tried benzos for a bit for the same reason. They made me a suicidal zombie. I quickly dropped them and all medication, and my life has been so much better for it.
