When I was younger and my stutter was worse, I ended up shutting up as people would just talk over me and not wait for me to say what I had to say, these days although I do stutter a fair amount still, if someone talks over me I can usually reply with a remark of " I'm still trying to talk damn it" with a bit of tongue in cheek humour.
