Being “ghosted” by speech pathologist(s) I finally found a speech pathologist within my city that my insurance would cover the cost of, and I finally started to make some progress. I ended up getting a new job a few sessions in, and my schedule got hectic, so I went a couple weeks without seeing her. I contacted her to let her know I was still interested in continuing therapy, but we'd have to work around my schedule. She told me it was fine, but my insurance needed to be verified or something, and she would let me know when I could schedule another appointment. A few weeks go by, and I don’t hear anything. I realized that my speech was no longer improving (obviously) and I still wasn’t in the habit of consistently employing my fluency techniques. So at the beginning of last month, I took initiative and reached out to her again and I didn’t get a reply this time... The next day, I called the office and left a voicemail... nothing. A few days later, I called again and this time, the other pathologist is that worked in that office answered. She basically told me the same thing about my insurance, and she’d send me an email in a week. Of course, I never received that email either, and when I emailed her last week, I never got a reply. I’m not trying to be a nuisance and won’t keep blowing up their phone and email, but I’m just feeling extremely disappointed with this whole situation... It really feels like they’re not even making an effort to help me anymore. I understand everything is chaotic right now, and they could very well just be busy dealing with other patients. However, a little too much time has went by since my last session in May and I feel like I’ve given them more reminders than they needed... I just needed to get this rant off, so I could feel a little less irritated about this situation lol. EDIT: First award, very cool. Thanks! u/dlmdrkfjtjj
