I wholeheartedly agree with the above. I'll give one caveat. If you're someone who literally avoids everything and are totally overwhelmed, I can see maybe start out talking to yourself to gain some confidence and work some things out (it's also a good way to be comfortable with your stutter). Think of it as the bottom rung of a situational hierarchy. But definitely not a month or two. Maybe a few days and then push yourself outside of that comfort zone and then keep going and going... If you don't avoid everything currently, and by that I mean living in total isolation, I would suggest to skip your proposed plan completely
