Trying to find where the root of my stutter (blocking) problem resides.

Trying to find where the root of my stutter (blocking) problem resides. I have a stutter (blocking type). It started when I was younger and after a long hockey career and a few concussions later it got worse. Since I stopped playing hockey, I have been experimenting with it. Trying to find when I stutter the most and least and what I can do to keep it to an absolute minimum. My observations are as follows. 1. When I am confident in what I am talking about, (hockey, audio/video stuff) I pretty much have no problems talking. Every once in a while I block up but I can usually substitute a word and it will go unnoticed. 2. When I am not confident or my mind is racing, I get blocks and stutter A LOT. 3. When talking to some people I have barely any stutter, when talking to others it is horrible. Its the worst when talking to my dad for some reason. 4. I hurt my back and was prescribed valium. I took my script and realized when I was on the valium. I was so relaxed and had no anxiety and no stutter AT ALL. (very hard to not get addicted to these when thats the case, so i have not gotten more) 5. When I smoke weed I feel similar to how I feel on Valium, except it makes the stutter worse? 6. Drinking makes it a little better, but not 100%. 7. Stuttering is a lot worse when trying to have small talk or greeting a new person, as opposed to deep conversations. 8. Meditation, does help a little bit. I need to practice more though. To me it seems like I have a MINOR stutter issue, that I was born with and nothing I can do about. I also feel like the main issue here though is my anxiety. Every time I do something that helps anxiety my speech gets a lot better. I hope that through meditation and natural remedies I can bring the stuttering down to an absolute minimum of 1 or 2 blocks a day. Has anyone had similar experience? Anything else for me to try?
