Don't separate yourself into 'authentic' and 'disabled' selves, does stuttering affect the way you interact with the world? Absolutely. Does that mean you aren't capable of expressing yourself other ways? No. You can always reinvent yourself to account for whatever situation you find yourself in life, if you lost your eyesight today then the part of you that could express visual input is gone but you'd still be you. stuttering can box you into thinking you're living a handicapped life, and that is mostly from individual reactions to stuttering, it's not something that's promoted or people have campaigns over and people just assume you're the one speaking wrongly or not slowing down. Bull, you're a stammerer and so am I, my fluency was better growing up but got worse over time, I can't even say single alphabets sometimes, yet I taught as a teacher, say what I want and the day I got called an imbecile for my speech, it took 3 people to hold me from smashing the guys teeth in. Work around problems, don't avoid them altogether.
