As a parent, it's hard not to think about those things, but in reality everyone is flawed and your child is going to be dealing with something. It may be even be an advantage if your child's "something" is stuttering, or atleast you can adapt your view points to whatever they are dealing with. I was also very concerned with my child stuttering. I just wanted him to start from a level playing field. He's just about to turn 4, he doesn't stutter (yet anyway), but he's globally delayed and has speech apraxia amongst other things. I have no idea what his prognosis is, but what I have learned is my acceptance of myself has really helped me accept his issues. I really try to make it a point to just enjoy him everyday and not worry so much about what he can't do or how life is going to be for him. I made everything work, I am pretty confident that I'll be able to support him though things.
