Exposure is definitely the cure. My speech hasn't really improved throughout my life, but stuttering is not an issue to me anymore. I'm infinitely more concerned about if I have a booger in my nose. I'm very critical of victim mentality in all its forms, including what we often see in the stuttering community. Modern society is full of people claiming the victim for this reason or that. It's masturbatory. Even worse are the do-gooders who white knight for the perceived victims and in doing so reinforce their victim status. Could go on forever about that one. From household chores to stuttering to whatever else, the best lesson I've learned is stop making excuses, just go out and fight.
