Wow, waddupboii, I watched that YouTube video. It's just one guy's story, but pretty compelling. It really really makes me wish there was more research going on with this. Like I wrote, there is one organization, MAPS, that is doing studies, but they're just one small place without tons of money. I'm guessing that, in addition to the (ridiculous) stigma with these substances being illegal, that there's also not a good way for pharmaceutical companies to make money off of psychedelics and therefore they're not going to put their huge resources behind studying them. So, money is limited. But maybe this will start to change, the way it has with marijuana. The reason MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) started its studies with MDMA's effect on PTSD is because they knew that with all the publicity about soldiers coming back so messed up and with the lack of great treatment options out there, that socially and politically they had the best chance of FDA approval if they could show that MDMA can have a dramatic effect on PTSD, dramatic, lasting and not involving long term therapy (one to three treatments). But, I've had some contact with the guy who started MAPS, and his real goal is much much broader. He wants to see psychedelics studied and used for all kinds of things, probably including stuttering. Here's a link to their site: http://www.maps.org/ Since they are trying to get MDMA FDA approved, they are really cautious about answering questions. (I tried!) So, though I know many of them have experience with psychedelics being used in all kinds of ways, they are not going to speak openly about most of that. But I see from their website that they are broadening their studies beyond what I last knew. So, it couldn't hurt to contact them and see if they have any plans to do any work with stuttering.
