As long as you make it clear to your son that the speech therapy is supportive and not a “cure”, I think it’s going to be ok. My parents tried to cure me in any way, including speech therapists but also quack doctors and “healers”. I can’t blame them because they love me and they tried best as they could at the time. But I wish they were more concerned with my emotional state than my speech.
