Speech therapy wouldn't help neurological stuttering? Firstly, all stuttering is neurological on some level. Secondly, what did they mean by benefit? If they mean make you stop stuttering, that's an antiquated way of thinking. Did the therapist you see ever work with non-developmental cases before? Stuttering therapy is one area where I recommend people get second opinions. The unfortunate truth is most speech paths don't know much about how to help stutterers or even understand the real issues. Also if you're running out of breath after a sentence or two, that doesn't sound normal and is something a quality therapist should be able to help with. Edit: I just read the speech path you saw recommended diaphragmatic breathing. That's not useful therapy. She clearly doesn't know how to help you. There are other ones who could. Don't think there isn't help out there for you.
