i am proof that is not true. i am on a lot of psych meds and my stuttering has basically gone away, for some reason. I don't even think about it anymore. I use the telephone now without a sense of dread and call girls and talk to them without any problems, that used to never happen. I am 44 and my stuttering has basically gone away. I have developed some fluency tips that I still use. I am not sure if they are just habits I have developed or if I stop doing them the stuttering will come back.
