Try living in Australia where people are very brutal with it. I'll be at a shop buying a coke and the guy will say "Com'on mate spit it out!" I'll even tell people I have a disability or a stutter and its either met with a shrug, silence or "meh." But they will still sigh or give me attitude about how I speak. The thing that happens the most is people will actually walk away here. I'll be talking, get stuck and they will get up and walk away. Sure some look down or go on their phones, but many just get up and pretend like the conversation/interaction did not occur. Really amps up my anxiety at social circles, which makes it worse. I was once in an interview and I told her and she said, "Well, you'll have to put a stop to that as we can't have that here."
