So for me, I realized that not only do I have issues with conversation, I also have issues focusing on other things in general. I got diagnosed with ADD and generalized anxiety. I really think there's a link with stuttering because we have an impulsive trigger: "Oh shit I'm going to stutter." If you've noticed that your lack of focus extends to other areas, or you have worries in general, I think it's worth getting checked out. If you don't, I suggest meditation or some other exercise where you can try quieting your mind. Stuttering brains go haywire as we start speaking. The worry happens so quickly. Anything where you can learn to observe that trigger as it happens will help IMO.
