I definitely feel you on this one. Especially in a group setting, like when the group is asked to introduce themselves. As soon as the leader says "Let's go around the room..." my heart starts beating furiously. I always think to myself 'Hey, relax, you've done this so many times, just relax,' but every time it's always the same racing heart and extreme nervousness. I end up saying just my first name after a few seconds of being stuck and feeling like an idiot. However, last week, same situation, but I tried what /u/_valtiel_ described, and it helped! I just focussed on flowing from "...name is..." to my name. Even got my last name out, haha. I always assumed adding more words would prove counterproductive, but I think it did help. I felt like the king at the end of King's Speech after the broadcast walking down the hall.
