I've been using online applications but I feel applying in person is where I've got most of my previous jobs. I can be charismatic in person, over phones definitely not, but it's something I'm working on. I used to work on the phones for a year so I know I'm capable of it, but that was during my fluent period. I can get nervous and anxious like everyone. Suffered from anxiety a lot in the past, but a lot of the time I won't feel nervous or anxious but still stutter and block, then try to smile it off and continue with my spiel but still not be able to speak. That is followed by extreme anger and perfect fluency, albeit sounding like I'm going to hit the person I'm talking to.
