The "not trying hard enough" is a very abilist thing to say, I agree. And advertising drug usage is not a good idea because everyone reacts to drugs differently. I sorta agree with the mindset part but thats only if its handled well because I understand not every single advice is applicable to every person. Example (real one at that): I've had, and still have, a stutter for my entire life and was afraid to speak because of it. In doing this, I was always talked over/not taken seriously..even in talking I wasn't taken seriously as people sited my stuttering as their amusement or me lying about something (that second one was mainly by important family figures). However, as i got older (im 23 now), I realized that being afraid to talk is whats legit holding me back from being a better version of myself. So, despite my stutter, I spoke up and spoke out. Changed my mindset to get myself to a personal place i want to be
