Hey, sorry you're struggling with this. Stuttering can make things so difficult & it's easy to let the fear kind of take over and hold you back. Please try not to be so tough on yourself. I'm not going to say "be positive and learn to love stuttering!" because again, it can feel like it's interfering with so much of your life. But for me personally, it was important to find a middle ground of, *okay, I'm super frustrated by this thing but I'm not going to let it dictate my life or silence me* There are, of course, techniques you can try that may help your speech (a lot of youtube videos) but even if you try them and still stutter...**it's okay.** I found that a lot of my fear came from worrying if other people would think I'm stupid or something because my words would be jumbled or I would sometimes just freeze and not say anything. But I got tired of feeling all that worry and one day just decided to start telling new people I met *Hey, so I have a stutter* . And I was absolutely amazed because people UNDERSTOOD. They just nod and go "Oh, alright, no worries," and that's usually it. It took so much fear away because they were now aware from the start and wouldn't be caught off guard or frustrated with me. (And if saying out loud that you stutter is a struggle, I've heard of people who carry a little card that says "I stutter" & they just show that) Sorry for the rambling. Just please be patient with yourself. Remember that there is so much more to you than having a stutter! And if it's really making you that sad or scared, don't hesitate to contact a professional who can help you work through these feelings. You're not alone! Hope you have a good day.
