Stop taking shortcuts. You stutter. You're always going to stutter. The sooner you embrace this reality, the easier it will be for you and your listeners. I've been there. Once at a party during an introduction, I was blocking on the letter "C" (my name is Chris) and the guy I was introducing myself to was like, "Seems like someone's been drinking already." In hindsight, I can laugh it off and it makes for a story, but at that moment I was pretty uncomfortable. Buy yourself a drink and remember it's not the end of the world if you stutter on your name. It happens, but the more you avoid situations like these, the harder it will be. Trust me. I look at it this way, the more I openly stutter, the more awareness I bring to stuttering, making it easier for the next person who stutters.
