I can feel that! My way of dealing with it is to “not care” about it. I even believe it, but deep down you can never fully not care. The desire of being accepted into society is a deep human drive. But why do you think it’s humiliating? Do you prefer not speaking your mind when it’s important? I feel even worse when I could have said something but hadn’t. The people who care about me or are working with me wouldn’t let that in the way of listening to what I have to say. They may have to wait a few seconds more to hear me or think harder to understand a word or two. But if my message is important they would hear it. And that’s on me regardless of the stutter.
