Okay so after a year and half of therapy, I can confidently say that in my case atleast, the confidence gained by these exercises, proving to myself that I really can speak without stuttering (Albeit only sometimes), has helped me improve my stutter. Though sometimes I get really tough days where it all seems hopeless, I do sometimes see improvement. The bad days reduce in number, and the good times increase in quantity. Sometimes you just have to lay back and feel blessed that you said 'Thank you' to the cashier or school security guard. Incorporating positivity and counting the blessings in my life has really helped. Recently, I tried this 'neutral tongue position', where the tongue sits on the roof of your mouth while the mouth is closed and it has worked wonders! I think the key is nose breathing and keeping calm. Nose breathing is much more relaxing, keeps the vocal chords in good shape and allows you to take in more air. When I compared this technique to other speech therapy techniques, I found the fundamental goal of all was the same: Be relaxed and take good breaths. You'll also see that all the other techiques aim to achieve this very effect. Lastly, remember that there is no silver bullet. It is a slow process, and the progress curve is not linear: It has many sharp drops and uncertainty. But over time you will improve. And you'll realise that your stutter is not the whole of you; that it is only a part of you, and that is what makes you, and me and everyone on this platform unique and beautiful. Eventually you will get the job of your dreams, fall in love with a beautiful woman and live a happy life. Good luck!
