If your 10 years of therapy was in school then yeaaa thats not going to do anything. I think a supportive group environment would do wonders. You tried group therapy one time and it was too much? Maybe it will be easier now. I can tell you from experience that im not one who likes to share much or get touchy feely so i didnt feel comfortable with groups either, but it really does help. Even if you dont think it does, its a lot better for you than sitting at home not doing anything. Matrixman, if you can scrap together some money, come to the NSA conference this year. Its in DC in July (but you gotta book now because the hotels sell out verrrry quickly). I'm telling you, I really think it would do wonders for you, if not be the first step in changing your life. I'm honestly saying this without exaggeration. If you dont feel like it or are too scared, good. Thats too bad for your fearful controlling stutter, isnt it? I truly honestly think it can be one of the best decisions you've made in your life. As bad as my stutter is (and its usually the worst in any group), there are people there with way worse stutters. you're not just some notepad with words on it. owe it to yourself to try again and try something new. Check the website. Check the brochure. Sign up dude. Just do this one thing. I know it will AT LEAST be a positive step forward.
