Each person's stutter is different. Steve Harvey might stutter before, though I doubt it, and he found ways to come about it, speaking fluently now. I appreciate his positivity in spreading hope in curing stutter, but his way of framing stutter as purely a psychological issue (not confident enough etc) is deeply troubling. The public doesn't know much about stuttering already, and now the idea of stuttering stems from low confidence is reinforced and take deeper roots in public opinions. We would be mistaken furthermore that we still stutter is simply because we are not strong enough, unable to conquer our own demons and hence we are not confident. Stuttering is a complicated disorder, condition. And Steve Harvey showed the world an oversimplified narrative to repair a complicated machine.
