As a non-stutterer, I am very nervous to talk to you all precisely because of this. I know the only way to do this respectfully is by just waiting for you to finish but God I am so impatient... (Which of course will add to the pressure, not at all helpful) I think some people say those things to help *them* ease with the transition of waiting for you to finish. Does it help if I preface by saying - "look I have a big character flaw, I am not patient. Please forgive me if I look antsy while I wait for you to finish"?
