When I was in school, I wish I was just mute. Life would have been so much easier, mental-health wise. I am sure logistically more difficult. However, once I got out of school and things got a lot better but my first office job, I had to call customer service a lot. I created a script for myself and would practice it before the call. They discouraged email as the job required quick turnaround. Thirty years later: same company but work from home and work in IT, so don’t need to communicate verbally as much. In fact, most of my convos happen in Teams. Plus I’m 54….. the amount of fucks given decreases proportionately to my age increasing.
