Has anyone tried any prescription anxiety or depression ( or some other brain med) medicine for their stutter? After reading [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stutter/comments/4j1xke/it_robs_me_of_all_joy_due_to_severe_anxiety_drugs/) recently, it got me really thinking about the mental aspect of my stutter. Like what's going on up there that affects it. Whenever I feel great and active, I can speak pretty well. When I'm comfortable in my surroundings or I feel powerful. Maybe my testosterone is higher these times. Maybe I'm not stuttering and that raises my testosterone. Either way, I don't feel anxious or nervous or anything during these times, I feel good and confident. I'd like to achieve that state more often. I found [this article](http://www.stutteringhelp.org/alprazolam-citalopram-and-clomipramine-stuttering) earlier talking about prescribing a few anxiety and depression meds and it substantially helping the patient's stutter. This gives me great hope. But I don't have insurance. Have any of you guys or gals tried it? Would it be worth me either getting insurance or paying out of pocket?
