Yup, it’s the worst. I have found reading a book aloud helpful practice for me. I took some narration classes, and focusing on clearly pronouncing every vowel, and also controlling my breathing on longer sentences both very helpful, because talking conversationally can activate that practiced skill of controlling my breathing/etc. I have also see other exercises recommended where you focus on controlling your breathing, so you can call on that skill later.
