Basically accept it. It’ll never go away. At least not 100%… and just find a support system that helps you. I hated my stutter. Always have but all of my friends/family was always there for me. Helped me when I was having my really bad days and ask questions to better understand how to help me. I did speech therapy too and it helped out A LOT. One thing they wanted me to do which I’m still working on is having me speak for myself and not have my loved ones do it for me. For example order my food, tell the waiter I need another napkin, etc… It helped me a lot too. What also helped me personally was working with kids, they asked so many questions and it taught them how to be more patient, polite and understand everyone is different and they shouldn’t bully or anything. I remembered being bullied throughout grade school so seeing kids I worked with the same age as my worst bullies during some of the hardest times of my life be kind to me and to each other. It healed something I didn’t realize needed healing… Just learn to accept it. Music does help me too. I love to sing. It’s the only time I don’t stutter (which I know comes from a different part of the brain) but just taking a break and singing/rapping to express what I’m feeling is amazing. It’s a nice break from it all. :)
