I always wonder how many jobs I was denied because I stuttered in the interview. It sucks because you can't really prove that's why you weren't hired. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1996, stutterers are protected. But like I said before, it something people take note of, but not to your face. Back in the old days I heard that stuttering was seen as a sign of mental impairment. Aka, if you stutter you're stupid. And considering how rare stuttering is, people don't see it as JUST a speech impairment and make their own opinions as to why you stutter.
