The effect that alcohol has on stuttering (repost) There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding about the effects that alcohol and other drugs have on stuttering. The truth is that it can help some, won't effect others, and potentially even exacerbate it in certain people. I think its important that some of you see this poll, as a lot of you seem to think that pharmacological treatments wouldn't work because "its just a pill". When really, looking at this poll shows you that some people are **genetically predisposed to having stutters that respond to increased levels of alcohol in their body** (alcohol increases GABA in the brain I believe).
