I'm a software consultant. I spent ~15yrs in a variety of finance & accounting roles (in an office) and I hated it. Then COVID hit and I realized how much better life was working at home. This past Fall, they wanted us all to go back into the office and I said no way. I scored this consulting gig (it's accounting software) and have loved every minute of it. For me, talking to people virtually is so much easier. Don't get me wrong, I still have the occasional block or stutter, but its no where near as bad. What does your experience look like? Im sure you can find something that you could pick up that's 100% remote.
