Been there. Congratulations is a long word and gives your mind time to mess with you. The majority of speech therapy is pretty useless in my experience unfortunately. The therapists are well intentioned but most have never stuttered in their lives and don’t truly understand it. I had success using a therapist that also used to stutter. He worked on the mental side of things and not speech techniques. If you can speak fluently when you’re alone then a good place to start is to read something aloud or even just talk to yourself and record it on your phone. Listen to it later. This helps you get used to hearing yourself speak in your true voice. It’s a fun exercise. Also, I’ve used a lot of positive affirmations over the years. Writing them down 10-15 times, especially in the morning, worked well for me. Hang in there. It can get better. Nothing happens overnight but with focused effort you can see results.
