It made me obsessed with linguistics in general and drove me to learn a few languages (to see if I would stutter less in a different way of speaking). Others mentioned compassion. I agree with that. I would never put someone down for something beyond their control since I deal with it too. It also made me pretty good at public speaking because I'll prepare a speech for 8 hours and perfect every syllable before even considering giving it. On the down side, it makes alcohol very tempting because alcohol effectively eliminates my stutter. Same for drugs like Xanax.
